New Ford E-Transit in Muskegon, MI

Our New Ford E-Transitâ„¢ Cargo Vans in Muskegon, MI

The new Ford E-Transit is almost identical to the Ford gas-powered Transit but it's built for a different, unique audience: Those who want zero emissions and who can live with a limited amount of driving range. While that's probably not a very big market it's one that Ford is targeting for now. The E-Transit is available as a cargo van, a chassis-cab and cutaway model so it can be customized to fit the needs of a variety of commercial customers.

Buyers can choose from three different roof types as well as three different wheelbase lengths. Ford's Sync 4 infotainment system is a standard feature and so are a number of safety features as well as vinyl bucket seats along with four-way manual adjustability. The electric-only range is limited to 126 miles which creates restrictions that won't be helpful in most fleets but might work for a limited number of commercial customers. Here are more details about the Ford E-Transit van at Great Lakes Ford of Muskegon in Muskegon MI.

Ford E-Transit Cargo Van Highlights

The Cargo Van provides seating for two people and allows you to choose from three roof heights and three body lengths. The Cargo Van operates with a fully electric powertrain featuring a single speed transmission and a rear-wheel drive electric motor powered by a 68-kilowatt lithium ion battery pack with a range of 126 miles.

Ford E-Transit Cutaway

The Cutaway also provides seating for two people and provides the same three choices in roof heights and body lengths. It comes with carbon black body side moldings, a carbon black front bumper and a three-bar grille. Optional features include black wheel well liners and wiper-activated headlamps. Maximum payload with the Cutaway is 4,513 pounds.

Ford E-Transit Chassis Cab

The new Ford E-Transit Chassis Cab gives you a choice of three roof heights, and three body lengths along with seating for two people. It comes with a Pro Power Onboard system that delivers 2.4-kilowatts of power. Fixed rear cargo door glass is a standard feature and a keyless-entry keypad is an available option.

Interior

Ford offers the E-Transit only with seats for two people. The cabin is simple and straightforward with cloth seat upholstery, rubberized flooring and durable plastic trim. Buyers can choose either a standard-height or go with a high-roof model and choose either normal or extended wheelbase bodies. The largest extended wheelbase model with a high roof can give you up to 487 cubic feet of cargo space.

Exterior

Standard exterior features include an audio antenna that's mounted on the fender as well as carbon black body side moldings and automatic high-beam headlamps. Also standard is a carbon black front bumper and a lower valence that matches the color of the body. Front fog lamps are an available upgrade.

Performance

The new Ford E-Transit uses a 68-kilowatt battery that has a range of just 126 miles on a full charge. With a 220-volt power outlet, the E-Transit can be fully recharged in about 12 hours. That compares with a range of as much as 450 miles on the highway using the gasoline-powered Ford Transit with a full tank of gas.

Safety

The new Ford E-Transit has standard safety features that include a lane-departure warning system, automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assist. Before making your decision, we encourage you to compare the E-Transit Ford van with the more proven gas-powered Ford Transit van to decide which will work better in your fleet. We look forward to seeing you at Great Lakes Ford of Muskegon to check out our New Ford inventory.
