Stress-Free Driving
From your daily commute to long road trips, BlueCruise was built to make your drive less stressful. You can enjoy your morning coffee or snack without worrying about holding on the wheel. Even if you're not using your hands, drivers can sit back and relax to enjoy the drive.
How to Use BlueCruise
Ford has mapped out 130,000 miles of divided highway known as Blue Zones. When you enter one of these Blue Zones, a prompt will appear on the gauge cluster informing you that BlueCruise is available. Next, tap the Adaptive Cruise Control button on the steering wheel, and BlueCruise will take over speed and distance from other cars, maintaining your lane and following any curves in the road. Last, once BlueCruise is engaged, you simply need to relax, keep your eyes on the road, and let BlueCruise take care of the rest.
How BlueCruise Works
The key to the system is the driver-facing camera. This camera monitors your eye gaze and head position to ensure you still have your visual focus on the road ahead. The next part is 360 degrees of perception, achieved through cameras and sensors outside your Ford. The last part is the map of 130,000 road and your vehicle geolocation software, letting your car know exactly where it is in any Blue Zone.
